A very early circa 1900s British made Hadrill & Horstmann Counterpoise Desk Lamp.

The lamp was produced in their London N2 factory before they setup their Surrey factory.
The counterweight lets the head to be set in the desired position without the need of using springs. Hadrill & Horstmann lamps were the leading lighting company in the early to mid 20th century.
Early models became one of the most fashionable industrial lighting designs, because of the heavy weight or 'Roller'. The lamps became very sought after by lovers of good design & a few designs were produced for use in the workplace or office. They were sought after lamps by those working in design especially architects.

Completely original paint work & fabulous working condition. Cleaned, rewired & tested.

Height 90cm ( fully stretched ), Width ( Base ) 14cm, Width ( Shade ) 13.5cm.

You are more than welcome to purchase this item in person & pick it up from our London based workshop.

Rag & Bone Bros are 2 brothers who started out as collectors and scrappers of all sorts of salvaged metal. We began hoarding all the quality and cool items we salvaged, until we came to a point where we just had to sell them and embarked on the business of selling antiques, vintage and anything we thought was quality and cool.  We now travel all over the UK hunting everywhere we can for those amazing quality items we like to call treasure.

We also travel to Europe (France, Belgium, Holland and especially Germany...) and now, slowly into Eastern Europe, where we have a group of treasure hunters we work with who search tirelessly for those quality items.  We also specialise in using everything we find.  We will hunt for old bits of wood and rusty bits of metal, so when we refurbish anything, it will always be with salvaged, aged and original pieces.  Nothing is wasted.
