French antique majolica asparagus serving dish in the shape of a basketT

This beautiful majolica serving dish is illustrated on page 29 of the famous French book Artichauts et asperges en barbotine by Maryse Bottero. It is listed as a design made by the famous French faiencerie Luneville.

It is shaped as a double basket with a branch style carry handle in the middle. It rests on feet which are also shaped as branches. It has drainage holes in the bottom and would normally be accompanied with a majolica drip tray. The colours are muted greens and purples with brown detailing for the branches. Beautiful detail to the piece. The dish is in very good condition for its age. It has a manufacturers defect - a little split to one of the bases of an asparagus stalk . It also has an old repair to the handle - see photos

Welcome to Restored2bloved, a small family run business that has evolved from a passion for sourcing beautiful vintage and retro pieces to create a unique, nostalgic and interesting feel to my home and garden.
My style is strongly influenced by cottage gardens, rustic country homes, brocante and shabby chic. I love things that are both beautiful and practical and find that vintage items can add so much colour and personality to your home. I am a keen gardener growing mostly cottage garden plants and I love using vintage pieces to provide interesting and beautiful  planters and vases to display flowers in the home and garden.

Sourcing stock is a brilliant and exciting part of the job, I love finding that perfect piece for the shop. Each piece is an original vintage item, sourced from varying locations in England and France. My other passion is restoring or revamping beautiful pieces of furniture, bringing them back to their former glory so they can be used and loved in their new home.
So that's a bit about me,  I hope you enjoy browsing in the shop and if you buy something I hope you love it as much as I do.
