Large 1930's oval wall hung picture of 'Sweet Slumber ' by Lilian Rowles. Lilian Rowles was a prolicic commercial artist in the 1930's and is very famous for these beautiful baby prints - the original paintings were modelled on her own children. This picture is in the very traditional style for the 1930's when many houses had picture rails for pictures to be hung from. The metal chain would allow the picture to be hung from the picture rail whilst allowing the picture to drop lower so that it would be at suitable height. This picture and frame has a perfect retro nostalgic feel to it. The colours are blue with a faded pink / brown coloured edge. Within the picture is the title and name of the artist. It has the original glass, metal chain and fixing, it is backed with wood. It is perfect for a retro home. nostalgic nursery or maybe a film prop etc It is in good condition with a little bit of aging to the picture. height 36 cm, width 46 cm
