A mid-century nest of 3 graduated occasional table created by Alan “Acornman” Grainger (An ex- Mouseman Furniture Company apprentice craftsman) Grainger began his profession under the master craftsman Robert Thompson of Kilburn, North Yorkshre and there learnt his skill as a furniture maker producing Mouseman pieces. Each furniture item was famously adorned with a unique carving of a little mouse hidden somewhere upon each piece. When Thompson finished his career in the early 1960's Grainger became 'The Acornman' working as a separate entity establishing his own trade in oak. Baring the carved emblem of an acorn on each individual piece that he made, Grainger worked in the mid-later part of the 20th century. This neat, rectangular nest of tables are in excellent condition. Dimensions: Max H: 53cm, Max W: 76cm, Max D: 44cm when stacked for storage.

  • H: 53cm (20.87in)
  • W: 76cm (29.92in)
  • D: 44cm (17.32in)

Welcome to Robinscroft Interiors a small furniture business set up in the village of Rempstone in Leicestershire by Alex Cufflin. With a passion for restoration and reconditioning those treasured pieces of furniture, Robinscroft Interiors specialises in preserving and celebrating original materials and techniques. With patient commitment to quality craftsmanship, we buy and sell items from antique to the contemporary era. Our aim is to create unique, inspiring and beautiful items for living spaces.

Robinscroft Interiors offer a range of reconditioning services relating to a variety of furniture traditions and styles: Sourcing items for clients from auctions and interiors events, bespoke upcycling of interesting vintage items and refurbishment of tables. Alex also selects a wide variety of pieces to restore and sell.

Alex is skilled in the processes of french polishing and chair caning. A large part of the business involves re-upholstery of items from antique to mid-century with commissions such as deep buttoned head boards and 3-seater Victorian chesterfield sofas. Robinscroft Interiors uses Linwoods Fabric Ranges or where requested fabric sourced by clients for bespoke projects.

Whilst Alex visits auctions and events to purchase items for restoration, clients may also enquire with specific projects in mind. Robinscroft Interiors website includes more details about the services that we offer and the shopping facility highlights the current availability and quality of our stock.
