An enormous antique BOS Whisky billboard poster.
A wonderful & very rare survivor, manufactured in three separate sheets due to its size & in some fantastic colours with some great detail. Printed by Walter Scott Ltd of Newcastle which ran from 1882 to 1931 & housed in a custom made ebonized pine frame.
T Pease & Son was a Darlington based wine merchant whose most highly regarded product was BOS or Blended Original Scotch Whisky. In 1908 it was supplied to the House of Lords which provided a good publicity opportunity for the company & was mentioned in most of their advertising post this date.
Late 19th / Early 20th century
Wear commensurate with age, very good for ephemera of this age, minor loss bottom left, upper lettering to right hand side slightly off centre due to the printing process (these were made to be disposable & in three parts). Contemporary custom made frame glazed in acrylic to keep the weight down & supplied with a new set of brass mounting.
Collection preferred due to size, UK courier service possible, please enquire for details.

Welcome to Room 8 Interiors!

Specialising in interesting vintage, antique & very often unique period items including lighting, furniture, advertising & decorative pieces. Over the last few years, I've supplied interior designers, television & film companies, major retail outlets & individual collectors and buyers in the UK & beyond through various online selling sites. I take a keen interest in anything which looks like it has a story to tell, love a 'bit of character' & remain fascinated with old typography, curios of a bygone era and travel & retail related pieces. While much of my business is conducted online, viewings are available by appointment so please don't hesitate to get in touch & I look forward to hearing from you!
