An original 'Model 55' table by Xavier Pauchard.
A superb example of this iconic table in folded steel, raised on tapered legs supporting a square top in the most beautiful layered paint.
An exceptional original piece of industrial design of excellent form.
Xavier Pauchard (1880-1948) was a pioneer of galvanization in France. Shortly after World War 1, he was responsible for a flourishing manufacture of galvanized sheet-metal domestic items. In 1927 he registered the brand TOLIX and started manufacturing chairs, armchairs, stools and other metal furniture.
Wear commensurate with age, good unrestored condition showing numerous favourable signs of its past.

Welcome to Room 8 Interiors!

Specialising in interesting vintage, antique & very often unique period items including lighting, furniture, advertising & decorative pieces. Over the last few years, I've supplied interior designers, television & film companies, major retail outlets & individual collectors and buyers in the UK & beyond through various online selling sites. I take a keen interest in anything which looks like it has a story to tell, love a 'bit of character' & remain fascinated with old typography, curios of a bygone era and travel & retail related pieces. While much of my business is conducted online, viewings are available by appointment so please don't hesitate to get in touch & I look forward to hearing from you!
