A rare cased set of 40 leather bound Shakespeare works in a beautiful cherry leather. The bookcase is wood, bound in matching leather cloth. Volumes are dated in Roman numerals for 1798 and published by Bliss, Sands & Co, London.
The colour of the case and spines has mellowed, and the photographs are a true likeness of this. The book covers are otherwise the bright cherry leather they were bound in over 200 years ago. A really beautiful set. Other photographs can be forwarded on request. Each volume measures 15.5 cms x 10.5 cms and the whole case measures 33 cms h x 25 W x 11 d.
