This is a very rare genuine c.1920's rent table in working order. So this as the name suggests was used for landlords to collect rent. The way I figure it was used was the landlord would sit facing the lockable cupboard and when a tenant came in they would spin the table top round (which still runs smoothly) to the drawers detailed with the letter of the surname. The landlord would then hand the tenant their bill and the tenant would place the money into the lockable hole in the top. Once they left the landlord would remove this and place in the lockable cupboard underneath. In the table top compartment there is a wooden switch which when pushed one way locks all the drawers and the other way opens them.

A very clever piece of furniture in fabulous condition with details running all around the edge as well as heavy brass door seals and locks. The green leather also looks original and in very good condition. A superb piece that would make a great centre table and talking point.

My name is Matt Dixon and for as long as I can remember I have had a love for history and design which I find relate very closely.

Since starting up TallBoy Interiors 3 years ago, I have learnt so much about what works together and I find that you can mix modern and classic pieces to create a truly unique design.

I am not afraid to express myself through the items I buy as I believe your home should represent as much about you as the way you dress.  Everyone has their own style and that is what makes this business so interesting.

As trends change, the pieces that appear on the open market change, and that keeps me thinking of how it can work in a design.

I want to provide a service that is totally personal to the client and help them use their imagination to create something unique.
