This is a great quality piece of furniture... Starting from the top, with a lovely pronounced dental cornice, hair bells on the columns, very attractive Astragal glazing one or two have gone missing over the years which we will obviously sort... nothing major. The upper glazed section is supported by two ornate fluted Doric columns. The lower section having two short drawers and two cupboards beneath, again with carving round the panels and again with hair bell decoration down the sides. It is also has all the original handles on the doors and drawers. It is a great colour; it has a great patination with one or two historical marks on the boards in the centre. But they would not put me off, I just think they're all part of the character of this great quality bookcase.

We will do all the work, we will wax it up, make sure it is all in good fettle and the price for this completed bookcase will be £1450 plus VAT.

In 1978 Martin Taylor started his antiques company specialising in furniture from the eighteenth century to the 1930’s. His particular love was Victorian and Edwardian furniture. As time went by he found that more and more people bought his furniture for hotels, restaurants and pubs as centrepieces or bought sets of reclaimed chairs for dining.

Since 2008 Taylor's Classics has brought together a unique collection of chairs, tables, stools and benches that represent the best in British furniture over the past 250 years from Chippendale to Arts and Crafts. Our new reproduction furniture has been manufactured especially for the contract and hospitality markets.

All this is run alongside selling our original antique and vintage pieces from our 40,000 square foot warehouse, showrooms, factory and offices in Stafford.
