Original oil on canvas, by well listed Swedish artist Eva Holmberg-Jacobsson, signed and dated 1931.Size (in frame): 73cm x 87cm

Condition is good for age, with some signs of patch repairs to the back and a hairline crack in the top right of the frame, though barely noticeable and certainly nothing which detracts from the painting itself.

Delivery is £18, in a fitted wooden crate.

Holmberg-Jacobsson (1910-2003) was a celebrated Swedish artist originating from Malmo. She was known for her naive style interior and still life paintings, such as this early work.Today she is represented at the Malmö Museum, Helsingborg Museum, Trelleborg Museum and Landskrona Museum, all in Sweden. A quick Google search of her work will reveal her lasting legacy and the collectability of her work.

The Black Dog, in spirit, was formed a couple of years ago, but only became an official business with the opening of our physical shop in March of 2022.

A father and son team, Liam Casey manages the shop, both online and in person and is also responsible for the curation of the stock, guided by his love and appreciation for simple, time-tested items of quality construction or design.

Whllst Richard Casey, a professional restorer of antiques with over 30 years of experience, is primarily employed behind the scenes, in his farmhouse barn-turned-workshop, ensuring the structural integrity of everything we sell, all without losing any of the original patina and cosmetic imperfections that make each of our pieces so unique.

Shop opening times are Friday to Sunday, 10.30am to 4.30pm.
