2 Arm Jielde Circa 1950

Vintage Jielde Factory Sewing Light Stripped and Wired
For sale is a Beautiful original stripped and polished Jielde two arm 1950s machinist working light. Designed by the French engineer, Jean-Louis Domecq, in the 1950s to be used in factories as a work station lamp. (The name “Jielde” comes from the French pronunciation of his initials: Je-iL-De).
Following the brief to be “simple, robust and articulated in order to adapt to all working stations”, the Jielde lamp is an iconic French industrial piece.

This item is a 2 arm cleaned and polished light in complete original working order. Its mounted to a cast iron and steel metal base originally from a bomb proof minors light. The item stands gracefully and very elegantly as an icon light on this stand and the weight of the light is supported at all angles of the light. With thread cord in brown this light would make a great feature in any cool and industrial looking space.

In good vintage condition, polished and cleaned (marks of rust are visible but add to the character I feel) this can be removed upon buyers request. Some wear and tear as to be expected so please view all close up photos provided and as any questions before purchase as this item is sold as seen.

Size: Base: H 10″ x W 6″ / Full length from base bottom to tip H 60″ / Shade W 8″ x D 8″

It’s quite simple. We buy what we like. We believe that extraordinary items are owned by extraordinary people who live in extraordinary spaces. We are driven by the passion to unearth and offer the most unusual, decorative and rarest objects.

Our house style is probably best described as artistic, theatrical and, even macabre.

We often get asked by our clients, “Where did you find that?” The answer is always the same. Look hard enough and you will find what you seek.
