Rare Pytram Advertising Army Club Papier Mache Figure

We are proud to offer a rare example of a hand-crafted early 20th Century Pytram Papier Mache Army Club Advertising figure, in the form of a well-dressed English solider. With brass monocle and cane. Its original makers mark at its base, in overall good condition for its age with light repair to the pocket area of the figure, respectfully done and not obviously noticeable. These examples would have stood in English grocery stores from the 1920s promoting Army Club Cigarettes. A rare survivor with its cane and monocle still intact, just google the item and your unlikely to see the like in such good untouched, original condition.

Size in inches: H 17” x W 5.5” x D 6”
Period: 1910 - 1930
Material: Papier Mache
Origin: England
Condition: Aged

Completely solid in structure and form, this authentic example dates over 100 years old. The Age and use are reflected in its condition. This example stands firm with aged repairs to the pocket section but executed respectfully and not noticeable unless studied. A worn surface but rare with its original brass detail.

This is an antique, true, well used item so please expect this to be reflected in its condition as the photos aim to show. Its exceedingly difficult to photograph all the areas in this piece, therefore we strongly suggest reviewing all the photos provided as part of this advert and propose questions where sections are unclear to avoid disappointment.
