19th Century English Censer

A charming and rare example of a hand-crafted mahogany, brass, and metal early to mid-19th Century English Censer of sorts. The open top pierced metal drum sits on a hand carved mahogany base, which is supported by 3 super quality rotating brass wheels. With a bone stamp to the base stating M.L.L 391. This item would have been place in an Edwardian home and filled with sweet smelling contents to fill the rooms with fragrance. A very well made object with lots of quality detail and craftsmanship throughout, so it’s likely to have come from an import and wealthy household.

Size in inches: H 23” x W 13.5” x D 13.5”

Completely solid in structure and form, worn and weathered surface with aged repairs to one of the inside legs, not that noticeable as it’s underneath the object. The metal is aged and worn paint is present, the brass lid handle is firmly in place by wobbly. A rare survivor from over 150 to 200 years, so please expect imperfections and natural wear across this item as shown.
