A pair of Chippendale Revival torchères

From the Fairbank estate in California These stylish geometric design Chippendale Revival torchères date to the 1900. Each with a pierced fret-carved octagonal galleried top and similarly carved column, on a tripod base. These examples can be seen to the left of the family photo from the Fairbank estate in Westridge, California.

Douglas Elton Fairbanks Jr., KBE, DSC was an American actor, producer and decorated naval officer of World War II. He is best known for starring in such films as The Prisoner of Zenda, Gunga Din and The Corsican Brothers. He was the son of actor Douglas Fairbanks and was once married to Joan Crawford.

Size in inches: H 45” x W 20” x D 20” (measured at base)

Completely solid in structure and form, aged surface as shown in the photos provided. An antique object that has stood the test of time, with aged repairs in section that are respectfully done and not obviously noticeable. One of the gallery top surfaces has light stains to the wood where a flower pot once sat.
