Item Description

A brilliant example of an early 20th century scratch-built clockwork tugboat. Hand crafted from found objects, this charming object boasts, original crackled paint, metal and cotton rope work, carved wooden lifeboats and deck detail.  A hatch door reveals a fully working clockwork systems that powers the propeller at the rear. The steering wheel also works and moves the rear fin. A lovely item displayed on a bespoke wooden stand. Size in inches: H 12” x W 19” x D 4” Origin: English Material: Wood Completely solid in structure and form, naturally aged items with relevant wear and tear. The paint is crackled, and the metal sections show rust, this item works, nevertheless. An antique object that has stood the test of time, in overall presentable condition.
