Late 19th Century Very Unusual Artists Hip Paint Brush Holder
A very unusual late 19th Century artists hip paintbrush holder or pot. This folk art single hand carved piece of wood was intended to have a small hook formed whilst it was carved so that it could be hung from the artists hip rope or belt. A unique sculptural / functional item that is very decorative as shown in the photos provided. Recently uncovered from a painting studio in Paris this example is truly one of a kind showing amazing patina.

Period: 1890
Condition: Aged surface through wear and tear is present across this item, fading of the surface is present in sections as shown in the photos provided, light weathering, natural cracks in the wood. Structurally secure with no breaks.
