Circa 1905 French Carousel Fairground Headless Pig Rare Folk Art Hand carved Figure

For sale in this LOT is a wonderful circa early 1900s wooden hand carved French fairground carousel pig. The item is completely authentic in its current state and highly decorative and collectable. The item is in overall wonderful condition however over time has lost his head. You can clearly see the break across the neck part of pig. However this item is still highly decorative and collectable in its current state. The item has all its original paint and detail with a wonderful cast iron tail. The colours are still very strong and even through the age of the wood is evident through a wonderful patina. The stand that is shown in the photos is not part of this sale however can be sold separately at the buyers cost (the stand is made from cast iron and shipping will therefore cost more as an addition). This fairground antique pig was obtained from a private dealer in Paris and we were lucky enough to abstain it recently.

The item is completely hand made in separate sections with some wonderful carved workmanship. All that you see is handmade to shape. A wonderful decorative item with a great overall patina and its original colour. It’s strongly suggested that questions are proposed and all pictures provided are viewed closely before a purchase is made to avoid any disappointment regarding the condition.
