Early 20th Century Folk-art French Weathervane Plane

For sale in this lot is an early 20th Century handmade folk-art French weathervane plane. This item is a complete original in form and structure. It’s made from wood, metal and glass, the item has 2 hand carved wooden figures sitting in the cockpit which can been seen through the aged misty glass. The propellers still move when the wind blows as the craftsmanship is of very high quality and has stood the test of time. Painted in patriotic french colours and mounted on a bespoke ebonised wooden base with its original cast metal bracket still in place. This item would make a great centrepiece decorative antique and is highly collectable due to its original condition and great look.

Condition: An old, used and well-aged item so please expect wear and tear across this time, Rust across the metal sections, aged discolouration across the glass and loss of paint covering sections of the wood. The item is firm in form and in one single piece. It’s strongly advised to view all photos provided as part of this advert and to propose question where specific points are unclear.

Our house style is probably best described as artistic, theatrical and, even macabre.

We often get asked by our clients, “Where did you find that?” The answer is always the same. Look hard enough and you will find what you seek.
