Antique Gavioli & Cie Organ figure from Paris Circa 1880

For sale in this LOT is a highly collectable French organ figure is in overall wonderful condition for its age. The figure is made from sectioned pieces of hand carved wood and yet the paint has been stripped leaving all its wood sections visible. This item is completely secure in stature, quite simply this is a very rare and wonderfully decorative original 52 – Key carved organ figure from Paris with a wonderful romantic look.

Gavioli & Cie History: The acclaimed Gavioli & Cie. was the largest and most successful of the French fairground organ builders, as it had 300 employees in the main factory in Paris and branches in both New York City and Waldkirch, Germany. Their organs feature gleaming ranks of brass clarinets, trumpets, and piccolos, along with the many ranks of wooden pipes.

Condition: This is an antique item so expect wear and tear some sections of the figure have faded, the arms are missing and the feet show damage as does the rear of the figures hat, this item is structurally sound, however the item does not balance alone as illustrated in the photos provided.
