We are proud to offer a wonderful example of a mid-19th century hand carved Prisoner of War (POW) domino set. Made from mutton bone and hand carved with a detailed and clam shell motif across its lid.

Size: Box: H 1.25” x W 5.8” x D 1.5”
Units: 36 Dominos
Origin: Europe / France
Date: Mid-19th Century
Condition: Naturally aged
This is an antique item dated mid to late 19th century, so please expected wear and tear. Aged breaks and losses across most edges on the box but the box is still firm in it form and not loss, the dominos are heavily aged with an overall wonderful deep patination. The photographs aim to illustrate this in the form of close-up pictures of its aged patination and light losses across the corners of the box detail.

It’s quite simple. We buy what we like. We believe that extraordinary items are owned by extraordinary people who live in extraordinary spaces. We are driven by the passion to unearth and offer the most unusual, decorative and rarest objects.

Our house style is probably best described as artistic, theatrical and, even macabre.

We often get asked by our clients, “Where did you find that?” The answer is always the same. Look hard enough and you will find what you seek.
