Early-20th Century Lithograph by E. Wessel circa 1914
A rare example of an early 20th century lithograph print, depicting a collection of what can only be referred to as “the sinister doctors”. Signed E. Wessel circa 1914. This lithograph if somewhat faded due to its age depicts a collection of professors, doctors and soldiers holding various items including medicine balls, a severed head, skulls & jaws bones, medical instruments, and a sword. The gentleman pictured in the centre with his waistcoat open displaying a clockwork mechanism in his chest. Weird is an understanding for this piece and yet its highly engaging and quite special.
Size in inches or ark: H 27” x W 45” x D 1”
Origin: Germany
Period: Early - 20th Century
Material: paper and wood
Condition: This item is completely solid in structure and form. Wear is present through faded of the print, some natural aged staining to the corners, with damage of split paper across some sections shown in the close-up photos provided. However, this print is supported by a card backing and therefore the damage is not loss. This item is displayed in its original wooden frame but is not protected by glass. Its exceedingly difficult to photograph all the areas of this piece therefore we strongly suggest reviewing all the photos provided as part of this advert and propose questions where sections are unclear to avoid disappointment.

Period:

1914
