Item Description
we are proud to offer one of the most unusual examples of a European hand carved stone boss. In the form of a vampire / grotesque. The paint is correct for the period as is the structural form. Made from solid stone and gesso material with hand painted detail. This example would have been displayed internally in a ceiling likely accompanied by numerous similar forms. This architectural artifact bares an inscription of some form on the base but is unclear as shown in the photos provided.

Item Condition
Completely solid in structure and form, the surface is well aged displaying a natural patina with faded paint and surface wear as shown.
