A pair of Collectible volumes on Barnett Newman 1972 and 1992

1. 'Barnett Newman' Published by The Museum of Modern Art, New York in 1971. Hardback with dust-cover. A point of interest of this volume is the dedication on the front (red) flyleaf. It is a signed dedication to Mr and Mrs Will Sandberg (Collector and former director of the Stedelijk Museum), "with love" from Annalee Newman (1972). Annalee Newman was particularly known for promoting her husband's work, both during his life and posthumously. Barnett died in 1970. She is represented in the book in a few photographs. This book is a nice record of her devotion.

2. Barnett Newman Zim Zum 2. Published by The Gogosian Gallery in 1992.
This book is unusual as it deals with Barnett Newman the sculptor. In 1969, he was invited to be part of a Sculpture project in Japan. This exhibition documented the results. The monumental work brings to mind Richard Serra. 'Very Good' condition.

Initially inspired by the interior at The Mint in Rye (our 15th century holiday let in Rye, East Sussex) and requests to purchase items by clients while staying, we decided to start sourcing and selling so people could do just that.

Based between London and East Sussex we have built up a network of specialist sources that we pull from to create the unique edit that is The Mint in Rye.  We offer a mix of vintage textiles, primitive furniture, curios, first edition books, vintage film posters and antique carved oak.  These are not chosen for their age, but very much for their aesthetic appeal.  The visual still remains true to The Mint interior style, but has broadened to include vintage elements that have the same unique view point.

To view the collection, please contact Barrie on +44 (0)7714 764708.  Dependant on the pieces you are interested in, they may be in East Sussex or in London.
