A Pairing of Antique Primitive Bowls Central European C1920

A pairing of antique primitive bowls from central Europe, C1920. The taller bowl has a striking check pattern on the exterior and terracotta glazed interior. The rimmed piece is decorated with splatters of terracotta and cream on a chocolate colour base. They are in good condition for handmade rustic pieces of this age showing some firing marks on the body of the checked piece which does not detract from their decorative appeal.

A lovely mismatched pair which complement one another perfectly, these would make a unique and special gift.

Initially inspired by the interior at The Mint in Rye (our 15th century holiday let in Rye, East Sussex) and requests to purchase items by clients while staying, we decided to start sourcing and selling so people could do just that.

Based between London and East Sussex we have built up a network of specialist sources that we pull from to create the unique edit that is The Mint in Rye.  We offer a mix of vintage textiles, primitive furniture, curios, first edition books, vintage film posters and antique carved oak.  These are not chosen for their age, but very much for their aesthetic appeal.  The visual still remains true to The Mint interior style, but has broadened to include vintage elements that have the same unique view point.

To view the collection, please contact Barrie on +44 (0)7714 764708.  Dependant on the pieces you are interested in, they may be in East Sussex or in London.
