Antique Primitive Hand Painted Glazed Clay Bowl C19th Century, European

Primitive hand painted and glazed bowl from the end of the 19th century. Decorated in viridian green and cream, these are in excellent condition for their age and rare to find in this state, having been used in rural settings. These were made and decorated by hand, and therefore each one is unique.

A beautiful piece for serving food or purely as a decorative item for the home. There are two different pieces in the green and cream colouration, which are sold separately but complement one another perfectly as a mismatched pair.

Initially inspired by the interior at The Mint in Rye (our 15th century holiday let in Rye, East Sussex) and requests to purchase items by clients while staying, we decided to start sourcing and selling so people could do just that.

Based between London and East Sussex we have built up a network of specialist sources that we pull from to create the unique edit that is The Mint in Rye.  We offer a mix of vintage textiles, primitive furniture, curios, first edition books, vintage film posters and antique carved oak.  These are not chosen for their age, but very much for their aesthetic appeal.  The visual still remains true to The Mint interior style, but has broadened to include vintage elements that have the same unique view point.

To view the collection, please contact Barrie on +44 (0)7714 764708.  Dependant on the pieces you are interested in, they may be in East Sussex or in London.
