Collection of Eight Primitive Handmade Decorative Bowls Central Europe C1890 – 1920

A rare set of eight antique terracotta bowls with charming slip decoration of naïve marbling in marine blue, tan, grass green and off-white. These have come from a family collection hence the complete nature. They were all made by the same maker whose mark is visible on each piece but, whilst a set, no two are exactly the same. In very good condition for their age and prior rustic use.

This set would be fantastic for entertaining, events or an interior project where a ‘matching’ set is required.

Initially inspired by the interior at The Mint in Rye (our 15th century holiday let in Rye, East Sussex) and requests to purchase items by clients while staying, we decided to start sourcing and selling so people could do just that.

Based between London and East Sussex we have built up a network of specialist sources that we pull from to create the unique edit that is The Mint in Rye.  We offer a mix of vintage textiles, primitive furniture, curios, first edition books, vintage film posters and antique carved oak.  These are not chosen for their age, but very much for their aesthetic appeal.  The visual still remains true to The Mint interior style, but has broadened to include vintage elements that have the same unique view point.

To view the collection, please contact Barrie on +44 (0)7714 764708.  Dependant on the pieces you are interested in, they may be in East Sussex or in London.
