A very well built eight drawer tool box made from mahogany with two small drawers at the top with the remaining gradually increasing in size. A piece that is versatile that can continue to offer itself as a tool box or for a number of other items, jewellery perhaps. We believe this to be a one off or at the very least rare. Not only has the craftsman provided a cover that sits into the two bottom grooves but he or she has provided the same system for the cover to sit at the rear out of the way when the tool box is being used. It boasts lovely carved out handles. The holes in the middle, we can only guess were for drawer knobs but of course they would no allow the cover to close. We believe the holes were made by another at a later stage and not by the craftsman who would have taken all in to account.

Welcome to The Tractor Shed.

Having left my profession as a lawyer, I had the opportunity to turn my attention to my real passion: buying and selling antiques of all eras.

I quickly found that the best way forward was to buy what I like; items that make my heart flutter on seeing them for the first time and that I would like to have in my own home. I hope you feel exactly the same way when you look through my collection.

The name 'The Tractor Shed' came about after doing some research into the origins of my family home. We discovered that it was converted from the offices of a business where tractors were restored and sold in the 1960s and 1970s, keeping them going for decades. With this ethos of preserving things rather then pursuing the often-throwaway attitude we so often now see, I started my small business dealing in beautiful items that deserve to be with us for years to come.

Opening hours: Mon - Sat 10am to 6pm. I'm very happy to take calls at any reasonable times outside of these hours, esepcially for those clients where there is a time difference. Please don't hesitate to contact me as I would be delighted to assist to you.
