Art Deco Crystal glass bowl by Pierre D'Avesn. Pierre D'Avesn worked at Rene Lalique's, for 10 years, during this period, he designed Lalique's famous "Serpent" vase as well as the "Tourbillons" vase, two of the most highly priced and extremely collectable pieces by "Lalique".
In 1930, Daum Freres asked Pierre to take the artistic direction of their moulded glass department in their glassworks in Croismare, he managed this until the famous strikes in 1936. We believe this bowl was from that period.
This bowl is impressive, being over 1" in places, it is very heavy, weighing in at 4.3Kg - there are slight scratches to the inside and bottom of the bowl commensurate with its age, but there are no chips or cracks.
