This is a large, Boardroom or Dukes clock, designed for either a sideboard or side table, so called due to its size, only the wealthy would have an item such as this.

I would estimate the date of this clock to be late 19th century.

The case is polished oak with brass fittings.

The dial is a silvered back plate with silvered chapter rings and black engraved numerals.

The movement was made by the Junghams factory in Germany.

The movement has been fully stripped, cleaned and overhauled, and is ready to go, periodical servicing will see this movement last another 100 years.

The dial and backplate have been stripped and re-silvered in the traditional method and look as fresh as when it came out of the factory.

The oak case has been cleaned and waxed, giving it the beautiful golden brown of aged oak.

This is a truly beautiful clock, with a deep Westminster chime on the quarter hour and a lovely strike on the hour. The chime can be silenced via a switch on the dial.

Please contact us for delivery options as we can provide a service to deliver and set up the clock.

They make a great team as Tony is colour blind where Lynne isn’t!  The shop gets its name from the Latin Vetera (old) and Novis (new), meaning we create new life from old things.
