This is a substantial two part dresser which dates to the late 20th century.

Made of solid pine this piece is well made, heavy and solid and is ideal for use in a lounge, dining room or kitchen, perfect display purposes it would also make a good display piece for a retail setting.

The style is reminiscent of an antique chemists dresser, the base like a large merchants chest.

The dresser has a wide base with an arrangement of 19 graduated drawers which are all finished with turned pine handles. The base has a deep plinth and the top is made of thick waxed pine.

The top consists of a large three door cabinet which is glazed. The doors open to reveal four removable and adjustable shelves. The top is finished with graduated cornicing.

I have hand painted the exterior in my own mix of water based black paint, the interior has been left in the natural pine. The paintwork has been lightly distressed and then waxed for protection, it has a smooth very low sheen finish.

The dresser is generally in very good structural condition with minor cosmetic marks of age and use.

VINTAGE HOUSE is a small family run business based in South Devon, selling quality hand painted vintage and antique furniture and quirky home wares.

Our interest in Vintage furnishings has been years in the making.  From an early age I spent time at auctions and antique fairs in South Devon with my mum, a passion inherited from my eccentric grandmother who had an eye for quality and a hoarders heart for beautiful things.

Subsequently what started as a hobby has turned into a full time business, turning the endless search for things we love into things we can sell from our home and in our online store.

We source quality antique and vintage furniture from the 19th and 20th centuries and where necessary revive and restore pieces to bring them back to life and up-to-date.

In our workshop we undertake traditional French polishing and upholstery methods, as well as self taught painting techniques to re-finish pieces that require attention.

Most of our furniture is made of solid wood, usually oak, mahogany or pine, we appreciate quality and craftsmanship and prefer selling British made furniture whenever possible.

Selling pieces that are useful and practical in the modern home, storage is always a key theme, appreciating that people need attractive items that also provide functionality.

Our painted furniture is created using eco-friendly paints and waxes from Rustoleum, Farrow and Ball and The Little Greene Paint Company.

It has always been important to us to have a 'green' business, we love the concept of recycling old furniture instead of buying new.

Quality furniture is hard to find at a reasonable and affordable price and we feel that we provide both.  The things we sell don't belong in the mass produced age of flat pack furniture, but are tailored towards an individuality that will suit both modern and vintage homes alike.
