This is a charming Regency chiffonier which dates to the early 1800s.

Made of mahogany, veneers and mixed woods it has a beautifully aged finish which will suit an antique setting.

The chiffonier is modestly sized and could be used for a variety of purposes in any home. It has an evocative look which will appeal to anyone who loves well aged pieces.

The front is fitted with double panelled doors which open to reveal a removable shelf set on wooden shelf supports.

Set over the doors is a single wide drawer and the top of the chiffonier has a raised gallery back with shelf.

The chiffonier has decorative brass inlays, there are various losses which add to its character.

The wood has a highly polished finish which has a fantastic amount of character, a lovely patina from years of being polished.

This piece is in solid structural condition with many small marks of age and use.

It is a well aged piece, the top has various marks including a repaired shrinkage crack and there has been a repair made to the gallery top. There are various losses to the brass inlays and some small chips of veneer missing here and there.

VINTAGE HOUSE is a small family run business based in South Devon, selling quality hand painted vintage and antique furniture and quirky home wares.

Our interest in Vintage furnishings has been years in the making.  From an early age I spent time at auctions and antique fairs in South Devon with my mum, a passion inherited from my eccentric grandmother who had an eye for quality and a hoarders heart for beautiful things.

Subsequently what started as a hobby has turned into a full time business, turning the endless search for things we love into things we can sell from our home and in our online store.

We source quality antique and vintage furniture from the 19th and 20th centuries and where necessary revive and restore pieces to bring them back to life and up-to-date.

In our workshop we undertake traditional French polishing and upholstery methods, as well as self taught painting techniques to re-finish pieces that require attention.

Most of our furniture is made of solid wood, usually oak, mahogany or pine, we appreciate quality and craftsmanship and prefer selling British made furniture whenever possible.

Selling pieces that are useful and practical in the modern home, storage is always a key theme, appreciating that people need attractive items that also provide functionality.

Our painted furniture is created using eco-friendly paints and waxes from Rustoleum, Farrow and Ball and The Little Greene Paint Company.

It has always been important to us to have a 'green' business, we love the concept of recycling old furniture instead of buying new.

Quality furniture is hard to find at a reasonable and affordable price and we feel that we provide both.  The things we sell don't belong in the mass produced age of flat pack furniture, but are tailored towards an individuality that will suit both modern and vintage homes alike.
