An attractive antique chest of drawers which dates to the late Victorian era.

It has a botanical look which will suit a modern or vintage inspired home, a good statement piece to add a finishing touch of colour to any room.

The chest is wide and heavy, very solid and well made from pine and mixed woods, it offers plenty of storage space for clothes and bedding.

It is traditionally styled and has five graduated drawers to the front which are finished with turned wooden handles. The bottom drawer is very deep and heavy, the base making up part of the chests decorative base plinth.

I have hand painted the chest in my own mix of mint green botanical looking paint which I call 'Muted Mint'. The paintwork is solid colour and the finish has been distressed for an aged look before being waxed for a smooth protective fairly matt finish.

The chest is in sound structural condition having been restored in our workshop.

It has a well aged look with many small marks here and there.

Repairs have been made to the drawer bases as necessary, repairing the worn runners to allow the drawers to run more smoothly.

The drawer interiors are in good clean condition.

VINTAGE HOUSE is a small family run business based in South Devon, selling quality hand painted vintage and antique furniture and quirky home wares.

Our interest in Vintage furnishings has been years in the making.  From an early age I spent time at auctions and antique fairs in South Devon with my mum, a passion inherited from my eccentric grandmother who had an eye for quality and a hoarders heart for beautiful things.

Subsequently what started as a hobby has turned into a full time business, turning the endless search for things we love into things we can sell from our home and in our online store.

We source quality antique and vintage furniture from the 19th and 20th centuries and where necessary revive and restore pieces to bring them back to life and up-to-date.

In our workshop we undertake traditional French polishing and upholstery methods, as well as self taught painting techniques to re-finish pieces that require attention.

Most of our furniture is made of solid wood, usually oak, mahogany or pine, we appreciate quality and craftsmanship and prefer selling British made furniture whenever possible.

Selling pieces that are useful and practical in the modern home, storage is always a key theme, appreciating that people need attractive items that also provide functionality.

Our painted furniture is created using eco-friendly paints and waxes from Rustoleum, Farrow and Ball and The Little Greene Paint Company.

It has always been important to us to have a 'green' business, we love the concept of recycling old furniture instead of buying new.

Quality furniture is hard to find at a reasonable and affordable price and we feel that we provide both.  The things we sell don't belong in the mass produced age of flat pack furniture, but are tailored towards an individuality that will suit both modern and vintage homes alike.
