Place L’Ilon Namur presents a scene in the village of Namur. There seems to be a fair going on, with a small carousel in the center of the scene. The square is based on the existing Place de Namur, which still exists today. The colors are very vibrant and correspond to his other paintings. The church is clearly visible in the background it is probably the church Notre-Dame d’Harscamp in Namur. The scene exudes a calm atmosphere in which the characters do not seem in any hurry. In the lower left corner, the artist has signed and dated his work and wrote down the title.

For VINTAGERIOUS Guy Kuypers, the history of his collecting began at the Porte de Clignancourt in Paris with a Napoleon III case filled with Exotic Birds. The colorful birds piqued my imagination and became the beginning of a passion for Natural History, Ethnography, European Works of Art, Antiquities and Curiosities that drive me on all continents, looking for fascinating and rare objects. Whether they are natural or man-made, all have an interesting story to tell.

So, it is finally in this spirit that the collection, which encompasses Natural History,Tribal Art,Paintings & Sculptures and Curiosities from many cultures and periods in history finds its rationale and its roots.
