19th century gilt wood mirror

A superb mirror dating from circa 1850.

Typical styling of the period.

Wooden frame with a gesso covering and several layers of gilt paint and gilding.

Some losses to the gesso and signs of wear but all adding to the beauty of this unusual frame. We love it exactly as it is.

The glass is a replacement

Established in 2005 Windmill Hill has quickly grown to become one of the Midlands favourite decorative antiques stores.

Currently located in a 17th Century barn in the heart of the beautiful Worcestershire countryside. Conveniently located just 15 miles from Stratford Upon Avon and 9.5 miles from Worcester City Centre. Free parking for as long as you wish.

We have a huge range of beautiful things, each piece lovingly chosen to enhance our store and your home. Antique shopping in the 21st Century is as much about the style and look of a piece as it is about its age, and with this in mind we stock pieces from the 17th Century right up to the present day.

The only question we ask ourselves when buying stock is, would we have this in our home? If the answer is yes, then we happily purchase the item for our store.

We are sure you will love our stock as much as we do, so please do come and see us one day. In the meantime, you can find the vast majority of our pieces in the online store, so please do have a browse.
