Cairo ware Brass And Silver Egyptian Bowl / Jardinaire.

A fabulous Egyptian brass bowl.

Made in the Cairo style. A brass bowl inlaid with silver and copper. The bowl features various scenes from Egyptian tomb paintings. The pharaoh is seen in his chariot amongst other scenes. The great pyramids are also shown. A band of lotus flowers adorn the top and bottom edges.

The piece is in nice overall condition and would date from the early 20th Century when Interest in Egypt was at it’s height following the discovery of Tutankhamen’s incredible tomb.

One side has a small dent and there is some age related tarnishing but overall it’s in super condition for its age.

Measures 21 cm diameter x 15 cm high

The only question we ask ourselves when buying stock is, would we have this in our home? If the answer is yes, then we happily purchase the item for our store.

We are sure you will love our stock as much as we do, so please do come and see us one day. In the meantime, you can find the vast majority of our pieces in the online store, so please do have a browse.
