Rendered in a restrained palette of soft flesh tones, blue, green and black. The elongated figure and stylised facial treatment reflect the influence of the School of Paris and post-war French Modernism. Signed lower left “Clément-Bernède” and inscribed verso “P. Clément-Bernède, 5 rue d’Assas, Paris 6e”.
