The dog is shown in alert profile within a broad countryside setting, framed by mature trees and distant hills. Executed in a restrained natural palette with soft atmospheric depth and loose brushwork, the composition recalls traditional 19th century sporting art while retaining a distinctly mid-20th century decorative quality. Unframed. French , circa 1950–1970.


Presented on later stretcher, the canvas show gentle linear impressions consistent with historic rolling and subsequent restoration, commensurate with age and adding to its time worn character without affecting its decorative presentation.
