It's not easy to find antique French linen bolster cases in good condition so I was very happy when I came across these beauties - and in excellent/barely used condition too. These were made long so that the decorative lace edging would hang over the side of the bed. This is really useful as it makes them a great size for larger modern beds.


I currently have two left; pure linen, hand made and edged with pretty crochet lace. They close with a row of little buttons (one button is chipped). Not sure why they have button closures as they're open at each end!


The linen is soft and comfortable but also quite thick with a nice country, slightly slubby look. Each one is a slightly different shade, just because they get lighter as they're used/washed. No marks to speak of. No damage, wear or thinning.
