Oh my goodness, this is beautiful fabric. An early 20th century French pure linen sheet with hand wrapped ladder hem. But the weigh - it's fabulous! The linen has a country feel; thick and strong but with a softness and lovely drape.

This sheet is unused but I have now soaked and laundered it twice, it's ready for use. If you like chunky bedding this will make a great sheet, it's a lovely heavy weight for winter with a blanket on top and I love these used on their own on a hot summer night. They don't get all crumpled up, they stay in place and are always cool on the skin.

And of course, a beautiful curtain, sofa throw, bedspread, table cover... This will prove so useful and will last for decades - not something you can say of a modern linen.

There are a couple of rows of faint storage marks remaining, as shown; these will fade out completely with further washing. And a some tiny wee dot marks which are likely there to stay.
