Item Details

Oh this is beautiful linen! A long length of unused French linen tea towel fabric, cut from a bolt and never put to use which is sad as this would have been expensive when it was new in the 1930s.

Original label still attached from a shop in Alencon, Normandy which includes the hand written addition "pur lin" (pure linen) just in case there was any question. Currently the fabric is stiff; it has never been laundered and will need to be soaked and washed to soften up and remove the dust and sizing. Laundry guidelines supplied.

The 270 cm length is enough fabric to make three large tea towels. Or perhaps a set of eight placemats? Or use for upholstery, a small blind, cafe curtains, bath mats - so many possibilities.
