Item Details

This is a length of early 20th century machine woven pure hemp fabric. It was woven as sheeting material and would have been cut to length and joined to make a double sheet. 


It is tightly woven fabric but not too heavy/thick. I like to use it for all sorts of interiors/soft furnishing projects, it adds such character to a space. Although this has been stored for 100 or so years it is predominantly clean and sections could be used without washing. Or soak and wash to soften the fabric and lighten the colour.


As you can see, the outside fold has some storage lines on it; these are to be expected and they will be fade out as the fabric is soaked and washed before use.
