This is an unused vintage French linen metis sheet which is still in its original bag, as it came from the shop over half a century ago. And it is extra wide - these are RARE!!


Excellent quality "fleur bleue" branded white linen metis with a simple hem. A soft vintage, creamy white colour.


Tightly woven and sturdy but not thick or heavy. This is going to be great for a curtain or blind or for upholstery, loose covers or a tablecloth etc. Or excellent bedding fabric too, it has been much prized by the French for generations for its quality and longevity.


Metis is similar to a linen union. I was the first person to take this out of its wrapping, the sellotape was still intact. I haven't fully opened it out as I thought I'd never be able to refold it the same way! But no reason to expect any damage and obviously there's no wear.
