Item Description
This Is a stunning example of a Ming style square bench. With black lacquered base and a bright red lacquered top. Such benches were frequently used in public places such as restaurants but also in homes. This example comes from Jiangsu and dates from the mid 19th century. In a modern setting, they would still be marvellous around a kitchen table or in a hall or conservatory.
The simple flowing lines of this bench give a classic look and feel to any space you place this bench in. Made from a mixture of Elm and Pine giving this item a huge amount of strength with little weight.
The dimensions- H - 52cm, L - 111cm, W - 30cm on seat.
