Item Description
This stunning red lacquered box originated in China during the early 20th century. The dashing red colour aligns perfectly with the hand-painted gold symbols. The painting of the gold flowers symbolise good fortune and prosperity within Chinese culture. The lid displays a person in traditional clothing perhaps singing. This could reflect a scene in Chinese opera.
It would have originally be made and used for the export market. Nowadays however, it can be used as a unique storage space for your home.
The dimensions of this are as follows: H - 13cm, W - 17cm, D - 17cm.
