Item Description
Circa 1840's Chinese Qing Dynasty cabinet from the Shanxi province. This cabinet exudes history! When we acquired the cabinet it was covered in a black lacquer which was damaged and clearly not original. So we peeled it back and found the original; a bright, deep and eye-catching red, full of character. The sides have been left black, which would have been traditional and the inside has been untouched.
It is in good condition but due to its age there are a couple of damages to point out; there is a small hole in the left door and there is a historic repair on the top. These do not detract from its beauty.
It will have been used as a general storage cabinet in the home. Today it will look amazing in any room - a bathroom cabinet, a table for a lamp or in a bedroom storing clothes.
