Item Details

This stunning buddha would have been hand-carved by a Laos tribe in the late 19th century. It is made out of tropical hardwood as appose to bronze as the people who hand crafted these probably could not afford bronze. Nevertheless, the quality of this buddha can be seen through the effort and detailing that is showcased.

The buddha also contains traces of polychromed paint, with specific traces of white and yellow paint on the body of the buddha. Having very similar carvings to the most Laos Tribe buddhas, the simple yet intricate carvings also showcase the effort put into the making of these buddhas.

The dimensions are as follows: H - 23cm, D - 4.5cm, W - 5.5cm.
