This late 19th century Chinese sideboard would have been used as an altar cabinet for family ancestor worship or used to store grain and clothes. The beauty of this piece is that it has kept its original structure as it opens from the top as well as the front. This can be a great addition to your home as a decorative piece or a unique storage space.
It contains stunning hand-painted art on the front which showcase gorgeous red flowers which in Japanese culture symbolises love, purity and nobility. It has been created from elm and has beautiful carvings alongside the bottom of the sideboard.
