Item Description
This beautiful Indian shrine is late 18th century and has stunning hand carved details throughout the piece. It has kept its authentic beauty through the polychromed paintwork and the original metal hinges on the doors. This shrine originates in Gujarat, where they would have been used in a Hindu household to house the family's favourite deity and place offerings on the front shelf.
Nowadays, when it was exported, a mirror was added to add a modern twist to this rustic piece. This makes it more fitting to the modern day household.
Dimensions: H - 67cm, W - 27cm, D - 61cm.
