Item Details

An eighteenth century, blue and white, Dutch Delft posset pot and cover. This bears a label, from a previous Dutch seller, which dates the pot to c.1700 but I believe it to be later, dating from c.1750. It is decorated with birds, flowers and foliage and the decoration is quite primitive in style, typical of the period. It is generally in very good condition for a piece of tin glazed earthenware. There is one chip on the inside of the rim of the pot but other than this there is only the usual glaze flaking to the rim and highpoints which one would expect.
