Item Details

An 18th century, English steel herb chopper. This is a most unusual shape and it would have been used to chop herbs in a wooden bowl. The steel is wrought, rather than cast, and it is set into a very simple, turned oak handle. It dates from c.1780. The steel is in very good condition but there is a large crack in the wooden handle and there is also a piece missing from it.
Dimensions: Length 20cm. Width 9.5cm. Diameter of handle 2.5cm.
Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £25. Most of Western Europe add £12.
